Digging through my old negs found this shot of a shantytown at the edge of Chinatown, on the approach to the Manhattan Bridge. Bowery Boogie has a lot more detail on this patch of land, once known as "The Hill." I would have been very surprised and perhaps somewhat disturbed to learn that before long I would be living just a few blocks from here.
