KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - An unemployed man accused of opening fire with a shotgun and killing two people at a Unitarian church apparently targeted the congregation out of hatred for its liberal social policies, police said Monday.
Church members praised Greg McKendry, 60, who died as he attempted to block the gunfire.
"Greg McKendry was a very large gentleman, one of those people you might describe as a refrigerator with a head," said church member Schera Chadwick.

i tremble for my country
I feel like I don't understand contemporary culture.
The popularity, let alone ubiquity, of many things perplexes me.
I miss the old days
When popular culture made total sense to me

Lying on the sidewalk near the East River. And wasn't I just prattling away about working at the New Mexico State Fair not two days ago?
