I first became aware of the Mayan end times business about 20 years ago, in a book called "The Flight of Feathered Serpent," by Peter Balin. I dug it out today and was very surprised to discover that he has the beginning of the destruction fixed for December 21st, 2011. I've been looking forward to this all these years, and I'm actually a year late to the party? What a disappointment.

Amazing vintage Meatpacking shots from Brian Rose. The "air will be taken out of tires" sign is still hanging -- it was there in '85 above, and I caught it (along with some of the same graffiti) in 1996.
